Learn & train with me
My Byte-Size Wellness approach evolved from my longstanding research career in exercise and health promotion, disease management, substance use and aging. I have a Ph.D. in Public Health from the University of Toronto where I was an adjunct professor, and I was a former National Cancer Institute of Canada postdoctoral fellow. I worked at renowned teaching hospitals, consulted to pharmaceutical companies and health organizations about the patient disease journey experience, and taught chronic disease and older adult exercise classes.
But .... I'm not a stuffy health behavior scientist who coaches people to better health through hard data. I'm on a mission to make self-care simple, shifting from an "all-or-nothing" mindset to a micro-habits lifestyle. The small steps and changes in routines, when repeated consistently, lead to healthy habits and long-standing results.
I embody wellness: yogi (200-hour YRT certified), mindfulness maven (trained in mindfulness-based stress reduction and mindful self-compassion), dance diva, exercise enthusiast, bone fitness instructor, master trainer (nordic pole walking), and health/life coach.
My interest in bone health started when my mother fell and broke her hip in 2012 and again in November 2024. Mid-life, post-menopause, I was diagnosed with osteopenia then osteoporosis.Trained in Bone Fitness (Osteoporosis Canada), falls prevention and older adults exercise, my passion and expertise is bones and beyond: building mind-body health, resilience, balance, mobility, strength, and agility to add vitality and awesomeness along your aging adventure.
Ready to step up to self-care and strong bones? I cannot wait to help you get started!
